Complete your initial ID verification

We use identity verification checks to ensure that a person is who they claim to be. It is an important step in setting up your Swyftx account.

This initial ID verification is a part of the sign-up process and is different from the KYC 0, KYC 1, and KYC 2 verifications.

We are required by law to verify the identity of all our customers who want to deposit or withdraw Australian or New Zealand dollars on our platform.

Australian customers will require two government-issued IDs or one government-issued ID and one proof of address document.

New Zealand customers will require one government-issued ID and one proof of address document.

Tips for completing initial ID verification

  • Double-check your details for errors in your email address, phone number, or personal information.
  • Make sure you select the correct ID type to verify.
  • When entering your address, select it from the dropdown menu and be sure to complete all required fields.

 


How to complete your initial ID verification

  • App

    1. Select the three lines three lines burger menu.svg in the top left corner to expand the side menu.
    2. Select profile new.svg Profile, then Verification.
    3. Select ID verification from Verification methods.
    4. Enter your personal details (name, country, address and date of birth), then select Continue.
    5. The personal details you enter should match the details on your identification documents to avoid delay in your account verification.
    6. Select an identity document from the list and enter your document details.
    7. After submitting, we will let you know if we need further information or if you are approved.

  • Web

    1. Select your circled initial in the top right corner of the dashboard and select setting.svg Account settings.
    2. Select Verification in the profile menu, then select Start Verification.
    3. Enter your personal details (name, country, address and date of birth), then select Continue.
    4. The personal details you enter should match the details on your identification documents to avoid delay in your account verification.
    5. Select an identity document from the list and enter your document details.
    6. After submitting, we will let you know if we need further information or if you are approved.

Accepted identity documents

Australian customers:

  • Physical Drivers Licence (We can’t accept screenshots of Digital ID)

  • Passport
  • Medicare card
  • Visa
  • Proof of address document (Must show your full name and current residential address and be less than three months old)

New Zealand customers:

  • Physical Drivers Licence (We can’t accept screenshots of Digital ID)

  • Passport
  • Proof of address document (Must show your full name and current residential address and be less than three months old)

Valid proof of address documents include:

  • Payslips
  • Council rates notice
  • Water, gas, or electricity bill
  • Tenancy or rental agreement
  • Government-issued photo identification card
  • Any Government correspondence
  • Inland Revenue Notice (New Zealand)
  • A paper bank statement you received in the mail from your bank (We can't accept printed copies of online bank statements)

Verifying with a visa and foreign passport

You can enter the details of your foreign passport to verify the details of your visa document. If you only have a visa and no other Australian or New Zealand government ID, you will also need to submit a valid proof of address document.

 


Initial ID verification processing times

In most cases, your initial ID verification will be approved immediately. If a manual review is required, we will process it within one business day.

While verifications are typically handled promptly, processing times may vary. We'll notify you once we complete your verification or if we need additional information.
